The book is about the failed escape attempt of my father Wolfgang Spielhagen from the GDR in 1971, his imprisonment in Romania and the horror in Romanian prisons and in the Stasi prison.
I have contrasted my father's report with the perspective of the Ministry of State Security, depicted by files and documents.
Thirty years after reunification and fifty years after the attempted escape, the book provides a multiperspective view on this part of recent history.
